South Australia’s economic prosperity and thriving industry sectors is the focus of the State Media Industry campaign that aims to raise awareness of the key advantages of the State.

The motivation behind the State Media Industry Campaign is educating South Australians of the positive position of the State’s economy, and the role that key industry sectors have played in this growth. Industries highlighted in the campaign include education, defence, mining and lifestyle. 

Defence

  • Defence contracts make up more than $10 billion of the State's major development figure.
  • The State is on track to exceed its target of 28 000 jobs by 2013.

Mining

  • South Australia is ranked the 10th most prospective location in the world for mining.
  • Currently there are approximately $13 billion worth of mining projects at various stages of development in South Australia.
  • Full-time employment in the State's mining industry has doubled since 2002, with the sector now employing more than 7 700 workers.
